Updated Index Status on Google WMT<\/h2>\n

Google announced adding accurate data to the index status on Google Webmaster Tools<\/a>, which will now report about each URL variation indexed, mainly HTTP and HTTPS protocols and verified subdirectories. This update will allow webmasters to track the indexing of all URL variations: http and https, with and without www, subdomains and subfolders.<\/p>\n

How Mobile Search Results Influence Shopping Research<\/h2>\n

A new survey by Local Corporation<\/a> about mobile shopping behavior emphasizes the importance of top search engine ranking in mobile devices in the stages preceding the purchase. 73% of the survey participants, smartphone users from the US, indicated search engine as the leading research method on mobile, and 50% said that the search results influence their purchase decision.<\/p>\n

Twitter Redesign Profile Pages Facebook Style<\/h2>\n

Twitter<\/a> announced rolling out new design for profile pages. The new design include several new features including a large, Facebook-style, cover photo and an ability to pin important tweets to the top of the page and highlight the most engaged tweets.<\/p>\n

Google will hide Paid Keyword Data<\/h2>\n

Google plans to stop passing keyword data about paid traffic, said unofficial but verified data to Search Engine Land<\/a> and Ghergich & Co.<\/a> blog. It means that paid search advertisers and would remain without organic and paid keyword data and would see (not provided) on all keyword reports.<\/p>\n

Facebook redesigns Right-Hand Side Ads<\/h2>\n

Facebook announced redesigning the right-hand side ads. By enlarging the ads and diluting their amount, the right-hand column ads will resemble Facebook newsfeed ads. Facebook also announced updating the advertising manager by adding \u201cad sets\u201d, which includes a group of ad that share the same budget, schedule and target audience. Additionally, Facebook application ads will include social buttons such as like, share and comment.<\/p>\n

New on Google Adwords<\/h2>\n

Google announced a series of changes to its advertising platform, Google Adwords, introduced as \u201cthe next generation of advertising innovations\u201d. The updates are less drastic than last year\u2019s enhanced campaign and they include several new tools for application advertising, conversion tracking online and offline and an improved Google Adwords interface.<\/p>\n
