The update purpose was to reward websites that use <a title=\"White Hat SEO\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nekuda.co.il\/en\/seo-glossary\/white-hat-seo\/\"><strong>white hat SEO<\/strong><\/a> methods<strong> <\/strong>and create unique quality content for the user and to penalize spammy websites that use illicit <a title=\"Black Hat SEO\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nekuda.co.il\/en\/seo-glossary\/black-hat-seo\/\"><strong>black hat<\/strong><\/a> methods such as keyword stuffing, or unnatural <a title=\"Link Building\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nekuda.co.il\/en\/seo-glossary\/link-building\/\"><strong>link building<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to Google&#8217;s assessment the update will affect about 3% of the <a title=\"Search Query\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nekuda.co.il\/en\/seo-glossary\/search-query\/\"><strong>search queries<\/strong><\/a> in English and in languages with average spamming rates and about 5% of the searches in languages such as Polish where the rate of spammers is above the rate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Google Penguin or the Webspam update is a massive Google algorithm update announced on April 2012.
